Vanuit de verschillende visies van partijen komt naar voren dat er vooral wordt geredeneerd vanuit het vastgoed óf vanuit de huidige bewoners.

Vrij-voorstel om op het buitenterrein van NDSM anders om te gaan met eigendom en beheer met als doel het een vrij toegankelijk EN cultureel aantrekkelijk en betaalbaar terrein van te houden. Het onderzoeken van taal in ruimtelijke ontwikkelings-processen. Een inspiratie boek voor een gastles/ rondleiding en workshop van 1 dag met kaartmateriaal over het fenomeen dat de realiteit van een gebied iets is wat tussen dingen in ligt. De artistimpressions/ goede bedoelingen verwoord in de plannenmakerij én de weerbarstige realiteit.
Planning the unplanned, Framing the instituti-onalization of the NDSM-werf. This is a detailed study of the institutionalization processes that take place when local governments starts inter-fering with bottom-up developments.
With the NDSM-werf as a case study, this research has focused on this process from a cultural producer’s perspective.

Hoe verkreeg De projectontwikkelaar Biesterbos haar recht op ontwikkelen zonder einddatum of inspannings-verplichtingen? Hoe werkt dat mechanisme van 'gunningen' in een democratisch land?
Een inkijk in het proces van verandering door o.a. een studie te doen naar hoe de werf in de media komt.

After they settled the real estate developers started investing in the surrounding buildings and most of these buildings are now in use as office space for corporations. “
This study from 2014 carefully looks into the processes of commercialization on NDSM. It is crisp and clear in it's observations and conclusion.
